Big Brother 2010?

Hi, take this as you like, but I was at work tonight and I was taking to my friend and Big Brother came up in conversation after a Masterchef ad came on and I said 'this is that stupid show talking over Big Brother' and she told me that her friend works in the production of BB and then of course I went on to say 'oh she her lost her job then?' and my friend was like 'oh no they have been told that they will be required again next year and that BB was changing stations and is going to be shown on 'FOXTEL'....well she said 'Fox' but im guessing thats Foxtel, she said it so casually and I was like 'WHAT!!' she said 'yeah they have been told that they will have work next year when BB returns, she went on to say how they will be less restricted and get way more control and air time, as I said take it as you like, but I thought I might as well share it with you all, also wondering if anyone else has any news that would relate to this????

I sent Endemol Australia an email a couple of weeks back about if it may be coming back or any hints on if there has been bids, and I got a response today.

Masterchef is doing well in ratings atm.
It'll probaly be back next year.
And maybe the year after.

It depends it's only the first week things may drop off but who knows. I think it will probably maintain a decent following but it won't survive season 2.

Big Brother is not over it just needs time to settle and cool down. BB's demise can be credited to the fact that it's content was such a hot button issue in back to back seasons which essentially crippled the show. It also had other major blunders at the hands of Chris Noble and Co which left a bad taste with many of it's most loving fans. I don't think TEN canceled BB without merit and still believe that there are higher-ups that believe in the show as it was suggested before TEN axed it to shake things up at ESS and to ensure that those with creative control over BB never had it again. A revival will happen it's just a matter of time healing old wounds and waiting for the right time and idea. 2010 is still way to soon, 2011 MAYBE.

Even if Masterchef fails TEN will try something else first before looking back at BB.

Just kidding. I have no idea what he’s saying, actually.

Ten’s chief programming officer David Mott tells The Daily Telegraph the network’s forthcoming 7pm show “will be like a soap playing over every day, five days for the whole year”. Casting for hosts has commenced and Mott says the new show will mean that The Biggest Loser and MasterChef Australia will become 7.30pm franchises next year.

I thought Hamish and Andy were hosting whatever the hell they’re jamming in there to stop the audience bleed?

A *soap*? This is starting to sound like that old SBS soap, Going Home, where a trainful of commuters would discuss the day’s events. RIVETING.

I read that there’s a headcount in excess of 100 people working on this new show, which strikes me as remarkably large. A larger than usual number of scriptwriters, or just an enormous production? WHY DO I NEED TO KNOW WHAT THIS SHOW IS?

Im sorry but it seems Big brother wont be returning any time soon. I hoped that it would, but seeing as how well MC is doing axing BB may have been the best thing for Ten. They even won the ratings for last night! Don't get me wrong I wanna see BB back on our screens but it seems Ten knew what they were doing in putting MC on.

Forums are the most reliable place to get accurate information about things, don’t you agree? They’ve never led me down the wrong path. Forget mainstream news outlets, it’s all about OMG and smiley face filled banter for me! So when I found the following tidbit on the Behind Big Brother forums, I believed it immediately.

I agree this is just a load of crap... it's a whole lot of "My Friend knows someone who knows someone that works on the show..." Everyone and their dog who's out looking for a bit of attention "Knows someone who knows someone..."

Forums are not necessarily a reliable place for spoilers there are a few reliable people who can be trusted but I wouldn't say they've never led me down the wrong path.

exactly, thats why i said 'take as you will' i don't necessarily believe it 100% but i thought it was cool and definitely a possibility and that i might as well tell you guys, sorry i won't bother in the future
